To create a New Photo Impact File



Step 1

  • First, select the File tab from the Menu Bar and then click New in the Menu.

  • Click the desired color characteristics for the new image. They are Black and White, Grayscale, 16-Color, 256-Color, and True Color.

Step 2

You can assign a canvas color for the new document.

    1. If you want single color, click on the color box, which is next to Canvas.

    2. Transparent means the transparent background is displayed as a checkerboard in the new image.

    3. IF you want Web background, click on the button to open the HTML Properties dialog box to create or assign a web background for the new image.

Step 3

Select the dimensions for the new image:

    1. Select a standard preset image size from the menu, which is under the Standard list box.

    2. Active image creates a new image with the same dimensions as the active image.

    3. Enter custom height and width dimensions from the User-defined.

Step 4

  • Select a resolution for the image from the Resolution.

  • File size means you can display the approximate file size of the new image - the final size of the file will vary depending on the contents and file format.
